I read a note my grandma wrote back in 1923
Grandpa kept it in his coat and he showed it once to me
He said," Boy you might not understand, but a long long time ago
Grandma's daddy din like me no one, but I loved your grandma so
We had this crazy plan to meet, and run away together
Get married in the first town we come to and live forever
But nailed to the tree where we supposed to meet instead
i found this letter and this is what it said
*If you get there before I do, don't give up on me
I'll meet you when my chores all through, I don't know how long I'll be
But i'm not gonna let you down, Darling wait and see
But between now and then till I see you again
I'll be loving you..love me
I read those words just hours before my grandma passed aways
In the doorway of a church where me and grandpa stopped to ray
I know I never seen him cry in all my fifteen years
But as he said those words to her
His eyes filled up with tears
* And between now and then till I see you again
I'll be loving you... love me

Today was a sort of IJ homecoming for me, when i returned to see our teachers with some others in our IJ school uniforms. this made me realise how much i actually miss the days spent in IJ and the bonds we had together as friends. I still fondly remember the days when mx and i would always wait impatiently for sa to get ready to go for recess and the times we had with michelle v. To me, IJ is just a cold structure, unwelcoming and forbidding, as it does not hold any fond schoolday memories. Seeing the sec 4s prepare for prelims in the canteen today made me feel like it was such a long time ago when we were in the same frantic position, and honestly, promos just seems more important than perlims were to me a year back.

The teachers are still the same. Mag Low and Jac Yip still bicker and poke fun at each other., while Mr Teh is still as blur, cute and funny to laugh at these days. I didn't see mrs Tang, but i heard that sher didn't lose anymore weight, but changed her dress style, while Jo Teo still looks the same, with her large humongous earrings. Perhaps the only warmth we can find in IJ now is probably just the antics of the teachers, and the times we spent with them.

Even ex-ij J2 NJCians went back to IJ today, i guess this goes to show that the place IJ has in our hearts will never change, at least in the near future.

luv ghislaine :)
